The Orem Public Library was Looking for More Upscale Event Furniture
Library staff wanted linenless tables & folding chairs that were versatile & easy to move, set up, take down, & store.
Overview
The Orem Public Library opened a new Performance Facility in 2021, a project that had been in the works for more than 10 years. The project was approved by the voters in addition to a new city Recreation Facility. To complete the project, they received local government funding as well as a grant and donations from the public. The library has been serving the residents of Orem for decades with reading rooms, a children’s wing, meeting rooms, activity centers, event spaces, and more.
The Challenge
The new Performance Facility required a more upscale look that would enable the venue to host several different types of events including receptions, dinners, retirement parties, and more. The staff was looking for versatile furniture that could be used in the many different spaces while being easy to move, set up, take down, and store when not in use.
The challenge was intensified by the shutdown in 2020, which was the year the new facilities were scheduled to complete construction and open to the public.
The Solution
The Library already had hundreds of MeshOne Folding Chairs and ABS Tables for their existing spaces, so they came to MityLite to learn more about our linenless table options. The Reveal Rounds and Reveal Flip tables were exactly what they were hoping to find.
The staff initially purchased the Reveal Rounds for the lobby and the Reveal Flip tables for the classrooms, however; they have needed to move the Flip tables to the lobby many times for different types of events. They have found the tables to be handy for rolling out to set up when needed and taking down for easy storage afterward.
The Library also purchased the XpressPort® Round Table Cart to help them store unneeded tables while easily being able to set up additional tables for events.
How MityLite Made it Easy
The staff appreciated working with MityLite employees because they were responsive and helpful especially considering the extra challenges brought on by the pandemic. The facility was closed, and the staff was working remotely, so they had to rely on the advice of their MityLite sales representative to help them get the products they needed in time for the facility to open in 2021.
MityLite products continue to hold up well over time, but there are occasional warranty issues due to the wear and tear on furniture in public spaces. MityLite has always been easy to work with if a warranty issue arises.
The staff members have always found MityLite products that provide solutions for their needs. The MeshOne Folding Chairs and Tree Carts provide the quickest solution when they need to quickly set up and take down spaces for events. They are lightweight and comfortable in addition to being easy to store.
The library likes having both ABS Tables and Reveal Tables on hand because some events require linens while many do not.
