Case Study: The Westhaven Golf Club Needed New Chairs for Their Grill Room

Written by Kristin Cooke | |4 min read

Overview

The Westhaven Golf Club is a private, championship 18-hole country club, located in Franklin, Tennessee. The golf course was named one of the best new courses in 2010 by Golf Week and Golf Digest. The course blends seamlessly with the surrounding hills and is separate from the neighborhood so there are no homes lining the golf course. Their beautiful dining facility and clubhouse provides exceptional food, and it is the perfect wedding venue, corporate event venue, and banquet hall for any occasion.

The Challenge

The club needed new chairs for the Grill Room that matched the new décor from the recent renovation. The previous interior design team had chosen impractical chairs for the space—they were expensive, high-end, Italian-made chairs that were attractive, but not very durable or practical. The chairs were not suitable for a Grill Room and a few of the chairs had broken.

The chairs were also uncomfortable and not the right type of material for golfers. The members were not happy with the chairs, and the club committed to making a change.

Club management began searching for the right chairs for their grill room that would be suitable for use by golfers just coming off the course.

The Solution

The TroonPrivé management company, which operates the Westhaven Golf Club, worked with interior designers who recommend purchasing Holsag by MityLite chairs because they would be perfect for the Grill Room. The designers worked with our team to determine which chairs and upholstery would be the best fit for use by the golf club members.

Club management ordered some samples of the Malmo Arm Chair and Malmo Side Chair for members to test. They ordered samples from a few other companies as well, but the other chairs were either too expensive or not as high-quality and as durable as the Holsag by MityLite chairs.

The club management also received a lot of positive feedback from the members on the comfort and sturdy feel of the Malmo chairs.

Mark Lammi and his team decided to order some armchairs and side chairs to have flexibility in the room for body type, size, and member preference. He chose a beautiful frame finish and upholstery that matches the décor of the room and the tabletops.

How Holsag Made It Easy

Lammi sent photos of the room and the tables to our sales and design team at Holsag by MityLite, and Lammi received four carefully chosen upholstery samples (out of over 1,000 options that would look best. Lammi ended up choosing upholstery from one of those samples.

The Westhaven Golf Club management team found this helpful because they didn’t have to spend a ton of time looking through samples. They told us exactly what they needed, and our Sales Rep sent them the upholstery options that worked. This made the process quick and easy.

“The process was easy, and the products are a great price for the quality. The members love the chairs, they fit the space well, match the tables, and they are holding up very well.

I was impressed by how quickly we received the chairs, especially with everything we’re dealing with right now.

It was helpful to have the opportunity to work with a team who could narrow down the upholstery options for us and do most of the heavy lifting. This enabled us to make a choice quickly and confidently. The upholstery looks great in the space!”
