MityLite Partitions have a lightweight aluminum frame and a durable and self-healing polyethylene foam core. The core surface is covered with stain-resistant, sound-absorbing fabric. Because the panels do not have potentially dangerous and breakable parts, such as hinges, panel locks, wheels, and braces, the panels should outlast any others in the industry.
Although the panels do not require maintenance, there are a few things you should know to maintain the quality of the partition over time.
- Store panels upright
- Avoid placing excessive weight on panels when stored flat or rolled
- Never place magnetic ends near electronic devices such as computers, televisions, and monitors
- Do not attempt to roll a panel tighter than 2 feet in diameter
Plastic glides come standard on all panels for easy movement and to help protect the bottom surface when sliding. The panels include powerful, rare earth magnets, each capable of holding up to 20 pounds. The panels are resistant to moisture, mildew, rot, and bacteria. The non-allergenic fabric surface is easy to clean with traditional methods, such as vacuuming and wiping.
Cleaning Fabric Panels
If treated promptly, most stains from inedible materials can be removed with a non-chlorine bleach, or by using cleaning agents such as Resolve™, with no damaging effect. Simply dampen a rag, spray the cleaner on the soiled surface, and then gently rub and wipe the stain out.
Cleaning Polycarbonate Panels
Polycarbonate plastic is less likely to absorb germs and bacteria than fabric. Any stain can be removed using any water-based cleaning agents or foam with a damp cloth. Sanitize the panels by spraying with any disinfecting spray. The polycarbonate will not be damaged by any water-free solvent or water-based cleaning product.
Magnetic End Connections
The magnetic end connections allow you to attach multiple panels together, end-to-end, which gives you more versatility and flexibility in setting up. There are two round, 1-inch diameter chrome magnets installed on each end of the panels. The magnets are polarized, one side with negative magnets and one side with positive magnets. Positive magnets will have a small sticker labeled with a “+” symbol. In order to connect two panels successfully, you must match the positive side of one panel to the negative side of another panel.
Optional Magnet Wall System
If you ordered the wall mount system with your panels, you will notice a row of small ¾-inch, round chrome magnets on the top sides of each panel. Included in your order will be a 1 ½-inch wide, thin metal strip the length of your panel. These metal strips can be mounted in a variety of ways, depending on the type of wall surface. Mounting hardware is not included.
Proven options for mounting the metal strip include 3M VHB double-sided stick tape and Liquid Nails Adhesive. Or, you can drill holes through the strip and attach it to the wall with screws or anchors.
When removing your panel from the wall mounted metal strip, start at one end and roll the panel outward. Peel the panel off the wall. Never attempt to pull the panel straight off the wall, as this may damage your wall mount system.
