UTAH BUSINESS NAMES MITYLITE COO BRIAN BOWERS AMONG THE STATE’S TOP 2014 BUSINESS LEADERS
OREM, Utah — June 30, 2014 — MityLite Chief Operating Officer Brian Bowers is among 11 of Utah’s top business leaders recognized with a 2014 CXO of the Year Award from Utah Business Magazine and presenting sponsors Stoel Rives, LLP and CBIZ MHM, LLC. The COO of MityLite since 2010, Bowers directs and oversees all operations for the global manufacturer of durably designed banquet and event furniture. According to Utah Business, "this first-ever CXO of the Year award honors those who are driving the engine of Utah’s economy.”
Earlier this month, MityLite received the 2014 Manufacturing Leadership award from Frost & Sullivan for "Supply Chain Leadership” programs that were created and implemented under Bowers’ direction. MityLite formerly received the 2012 Manufacturing Leadership award for "Operational Excellence.”
Reflecting on these accolades, Bowers said, "I accept the CXO award on behalf of all of MityLite’s employees who not only weathered the recession, but who stood steadfast in their acceptance of change to improve the way we function. Together, our productivity increased by over 100 percent; schedule completion, on-time, and inventory metrics are 38 percent better; and our safety rates are 200 percent better. We are simply not the same company we were five years ago…we’re better.”
MityLite President and CEO John Dudash attributes Bowers’ strategic perspective, counsel, and decision-making abilities to helping guide MityLite through a period of strong growth despite a challenging economy. "While this award recognizes our ability to succeed together as a company, it showcases Brian’s abilities to prudently steer our operations. We are fortunate to have him on our executive team.”
